Costa del Sol: The Coast of the Sun

If you are looking for a holiday where you can laze on the beach, swim in clear blue waters, take part in loads of activities and enjoy the sun, then you can’t go wrong visiting a place which literally means the coast of the sun – Costa del Sol. As you can imagine the climate there is amazing and as a result it attracts holiday makers of all ages from all over Europe.
Costa del Sol is located on the southern coast of Spain, which is the hottest part, and it stretches for 160 Kilometers. There is no doubt that you’ll spend loads of time soaking up the sun during your Costa del Sol holidays, so you’ll be glad to know that you can enjoy temperatures of between 25 and 30 degrees which is more than adequate for getting a highly coveted suntan.

The Costa del Sol is home to several resorts with the most popular ones being Torremolinos, Benalmadena, Fuengirola and Mijas. A high percentage of holiday maker choose to go on Torremolinos holidays because this resort has some amazing beaches, plenty of activities and a vibrant nightlife. It is only a short distance from the airport and it merges with Benalmadena which has a variety of cafés and shops.

Holiday makers also like to visit Fuengirola which is similar to the resorts that have been mentioned previously. However, if you want something different and more relaxed then head to the town of Mijas. It’s a beautiful town known for its whitewashed houses and cobbled streets. It is also known for its famous donkey taxis and bullfighting! There are many quality restaurants in this town, so you’ll get a chance to sample the local cuisine.

As you can see the Costa del Sol has a lot to offer whether you want a lively holiday or a quiet relaxing holiday, so why not pay a visit to one of its resorts.
